The challenge
What Cable and local operators operators have to get right
A cable or local operator rarely sells directly. Distributors, sub-distributors and local cable operators sign up customers, collect payment and answer the first call. The operator's income depends on every one of those partners recording sales correctly, paying in on time and being paid the right commission.
That makes billing software for cable operators and LCOs different from a direct-sales system. Each partner needs a wallet, a view of their own customers and a clear statement of what they have earned. The operator needs one record of every customer whichever partner sold them. i2iCore builds these partner functions on the same billing records the operator uses.
Commission that must be right
Partners are paid on what they sell, and disputes start when the figures do not match. Commission has to be worked out from the same transaction that bills the customer, not rebuilt afterwards in a spreadsheet.
Partners need their own front door
Local operators want to create customers, renew plans and check balances themselves. Without a portal they phone or message the operator, and their staff and the operator's staff duplicate each other's work.
Late payments from customers and partners
Money is owed at two levels: subscribers to partners and partners to the operator. Overdue accounts need clear worklists, timely reminders and a record of who followed up, or balances quietly age.
A customer base split across sellers
When every partner keeps their own records, the operator cannot see who owes what or which plans are active. One customer record, with the selling partner attached, keeps reporting and support consistent.
The modules
How each module helps
Every operator starts with the AAA and CRM core. The rest are added as the network needs them. Each module has its own datasheet.
- i2i AAAAccess & NetworkCore
Authenticates subscribers and authorises access by plan and status, then writes accounting straight into billing. When a partner renews a customer or an account lapses, what the network allows follows.
- i2i CRMMonetisation & FinanceCore
Holds the plan catalogue, customer accounts, invoices and payments, and the partner network with wallets, in one system. A renewal, its invoice and the partner's commission all come from the same record.
- i2i Partner SettlementMonetisation & Finance
Works out commission for the selling partner and its direct parent at each registration or renewal, books it to their wallets and records the operator's share. Three levels: distributor, sub-distributor and LCO.
- i2i Partner PortalCustomers & Partners
The portal where distributors, sub-distributors and LCOs create customers, renew plans, top up wallets and review commission. The operator can rename Partner to Franchise or LCO across the interface.
- i2i CollectionsMonetisation & Finance
Runs dunning rules that send SMS, WhatsApp or email and can bar or suspend service. Worklists show barred, overdue and upcoming-renewal accounts, with follow-up notes and a record of why an account was skipped.
- i2i Customer Portal & AppCustomers & Partners
Lets subscribers renew, change plan, pay by gateway, download invoices and raise service requests themselves, using the same billing and ticketing services as staff, so partners field fewer routine calls.

FAQ
Cable and local operators: frequently asked questions
How many partner levels does the platform support?
Three: distributor, sub-distributor and LCO. Commission is booked to the selling partner and its direct parent, and the operator's share is recorded separately. If your network has more layers than that, talk to us before planning, because the structure is fixed at three levels.
How is commission calculated?
Commission plans are set in partner profiles by plan group, single plan, add-on or charge, as a percentage or a fixed value. The amount is worked out in the same transaction that bills the customer. TDS on commission is recorded and can be exported.
Can partners see only their own customers?
Menus in the partner portal follow the permissions granted to each partner user, and partner staff, roles and teams are managed inside the partner's own portal. Ask us to walk through the customer scoping you need against your partner structure.
How do we chase overdue payments?
i2i Collections lets you write rules by trigger, threshold and an ordered list of actions, such as an SMS reminder followed by suspension. You can preview a rule before it runs. Staff work from worklists and log each follow-up with notes.
Does the operator get one view of all customers?
Yes. Customers, accounts and invoices are held in i2i CRM whichever partner sold them, and the customer account view shows plan history, transactions, usage, tickets and partner information. Partners see their own customers through the partner portal.
