Devices & Assurance

Keep every device and link healthy

Register and configure routers and ONTs over TR-069, and watch switches, OLTs and ONUs so a fault shows which customers it touches before the phone rings.

About Devices & Assurance

Devices & Assurance covers the equipment on and behind the customer's premises and the network that serves it. It is TR-069 ACS and network monitoring software with serial-level inventory. Support desks, NOC teams and store managers use it to configure devices remotely, spot faults early and know where every router, ONT and spare is.

i2i ACS discovers customer-premise equipment when it first calls in, configures it with workflows your team builds and registers it against the subscriber in your billing system. Support can then reboot, diagnose or reconfigure a device from a console, singly or in bulk. i2i NetPulse, a network monitoring system (NMS), polls switches, routers, OLTs, ONUs and servers through an edge probe and is strongest on GPON and EPON fibre.

i2i Inventory follows equipment from purchase requisition and goods receipt to warehouses, partners, technicians and customers, one serial number at a time. It also manages IP pools and landline number batches. The three modules answer different questions: where a device is, how it is configured and how the network behind it is performing.

What you get done

TR-069 device provisioning, network monitoring and serial-level equipment stock control.

  • TR-069 discovery and template-based configuration
  • Reboot, diagnostics and firmware download, singly or in bulk
  • Alerts that name the customers behind a failed OLT or PON port
  • ONU-failure prediction from each network's own readings

Better together

How the Devices & Assurance modules work together

  1. Receive and assign the equipment

i2i Inventory posts a goods receipt with device serials from a CSV file, so each unit exists at the warehouse. Devices can then be moved to partners or technicians and assigned to a customer's service account.

  2. Onboard the device with zero touch

When a new ONT sends its first Inform, i2i ACS discovers it and applies a template by vendor and model. It registers the device against the subscriber in i2i billing by PPPoE username and can look up the equipment's billing-side inventory record by serial.

  3. Watch the network behind it

i2i NetPulse polls the fibre and switching network and links ONUs to customers synced from i2i billing. A failed OLT or PON port then shows the subscribers behind it, and drift insights flag optical links that are getting worse.

  4. Diagnose and close the loop

The support desk runs the ACS service check, a ping or traceroute from the device and a look at connected Wi-Fi clients. A router that fails goes back through Inventory, where it is marked faulty or sent for RMA with its history intact.

FAQ

Devices & Assurance: frequently asked questions

Do i2i ACS and i2i NetPulse exchange alerts or data?

Not directly. Both connect to your i2i billing system, ACS to register devices against subscribers and NetPulse to link ONUs to customers, but neither reads the other. Teams use the two consoles side by side, ACS for the device and NetPulse for the network.

Both ACS and NetPulse show optical power. Which should I use?

They look from different places. ACS collects readings from ONTs of several makes through TR-069 and grades each with warn and critical thresholds. NetPulse polls OLTs and ONUs from an edge probe, adds rules for whole PON ports and shows which customers are behind a fault. Many fibre operators will want both.

Can i2i ACS upgrade firmware across a fleet?

Bulk Ops applies one operation, including a firmware download, to a filtered list of devices and tracks the result of each so failures can be retried. It is an operator-driven action from the console, not a scheduled campaign that runs by policy on its own.

Does i2i NetPulse only monitor fibre?

No. Its edge probe polls switches, routers, servers and BGP peers using SNMP, telnet, SSH, ICMP ping and syslog, and it monitors Linux and Windows hosts without an agent. It is strongest on GPON and EPON networks, where ONU and PON port sensors and optical insights apply.

How does i2i Inventory track a device?

Each device with serial tracking has one record with a status and a history, from in stock through assigned and installed to faulty, RMA or scrapped. Devices move between warehouses, partners, technicians and customers, and every movement is written to a ledger.

Where does the NetPulse probe run?

On your own network, one per site if you wish. The probe registers with a one-time token and sends results outward over HTTPS, so the management network needs no inbound firewall rule. That suits an ISP with several points of presence.
