What Wireless ISPs operators have to get right
A wireless ISP serves customers spread across towers, villages and towns. Customers are few per site and far apart, which makes every visit expensive. Money arrives in small, frequent payments, and the business depends on renewals being simple for the customer and cheap for the operator to process.
Software decides how much of that work needs a person. Billing and AAA software for wireless ISPs must authorise each subscriber, apply the plan speed, invoice on time and chase payment. Customer equipment then needs remote configuration and diagnosis, and support needs somewhere to record every complaint and visit. i2iCore brings these into one connected set.
Distance makes every visit costly
Towers and customers can be hours apart. Each installation, reconfiguration or fault visit takes staff time and fuel, so operators need to do as much as they can from a console before anyone travels.
Small payments, high volume
Many customers pay small amounts often. Manual renewal entry, missed reminders and unrecorded cash payments consume staff time and delay revenue, so billing and follow-up need to run largely on their own.
One network, many access points
Subscribers reach the network through different towers and devices, but each must be authenticated and held to the plan they bought. Rules that differ by site quickly become hard to manage without central control.
Customers who expect self-service
Subscribers expect to renew, pay and report problems on their own. When they cannot, calls and walk-ins fill the working day, and small teams spend their time on routine requests.
The modules
How each module helps
Every operator starts with the AAA and CRM core. The rest are added as the network needs them. Each module has its own datasheet.
- i2i AAAAccess & NetworkCore
Authenticates and authorises subscribers through workflows and policies set in a web console. Plan, status and policy decide access, and accounting records feed billing directly, wherever the subscriber connects.
- i2i CRMMonetisation & FinanceCore
Keeps prepaid and postpaid plans, accounts, invoices and payments together. Bill runs with preview and rollback, payment adaptors and SMS, WhatsApp and email alerts reduce the manual work of billing and reminders.
- i2i BNGAccess & Network
Terminates PPPoE subscribers and runs carrier-grade NAT on standard x86 servers. It applies the speed from RADIUS and can change it live, so plan changes take effect without a site visit.
- i2i ACSDevices & Assurance
Manages customer premise equipment over TR-069. Devices register against the subscriber on first contact, and support can reconfigure, reboot, run diagnostics or send firmware from the console instead of driving to the site.
- i2i NetPulseDevices & Assurance
An edge probe polls switches, routers, servers and BGP peers and turns readings into alerts and dashboards. It is strongest on GPON and EPON fibre, so ask us whether it covers the radio equipment you run.
- i2i Customer Portal & AppCustomers & Partners
Lets subscribers renew, change plan, pay by gateway, download invoices, check usage and raise service requests themselves. It reads the same billing and ticketing services as staff, so routine requests stop reaching the phone.
- i2i TicketingOperations & Field
Records every complaint with the subscriber, plan and partner attached, routes it to a team and tracks it against SLA. Work orders for installations, repairs and site surveys keep their history on the ticket.
- i2i FieldOperations & Field
Serves staff working outside the office. A staff mobile application registers customers, renews plans and follows tickets, and technician work orders track dispatch to completion. See the i2i Field page for what exists today.

- Give customers self-care for renewals and requests
FAQ
Wireless ISPs: frequently asked questions
Can i2iCore authorise subscribers across many towers?
Yes. i2i AAA is a central RADIUS server. It routes each request to a workflow by source or condition and applies policy by plan and status, so the same rules can cover every site. Confirm how your radio equipment sends RADIUS requests with us.
Does the ACS manage radio equipment?
i2i ACS manages customer premise equipment that speaks TR-069, such as ONT units and Wi-Fi routers. It does not manage radio equipment that lacks TR-069. Tell us the models on your network and we will confirm what can be provisioned.
How do we reduce manual billing work?
i2i CRM runs postpaid bill runs with preview and rollback and takes payments through gateway adaptors. i2i Collections, part of the billing stack, adds dunning rules that send reminders and suspend service. Both are configured in the console, not in code.
Is NetPulse suited to wireless networks?
NetPulse polls switches, routers, servers and BGP peers over SNMP, telnet and SSH, and is strongest on GPON and EPON fibre. It can monitor the wired parts of a wireless network. Whether it supports your radio devices depends on the vendor, so ask us.
Can customers manage their own connection?
Yes. In the customer portal a subscriber can renew, change plan, pay, download invoices, check usage and raise a request. They can also manage their router's Wi-Fi name and MAC binding. The operator switches each function on or off.
