HR and staff onboarding for operators, with access set up alongside

At a glance

  • Staff onboarded with roles set by job profile, not one by one
  • Leavers removed with their sessions ended at once
  • Shifts and attendance recorded for on-duty staff
  • Joiner, mover and leaver report you can export

Overview

i2i People covers HR and staff onboarding for an ISP or telecom operator, with platform access set up alongside each staff record, so new starters get the right access and leavers lose it. Ask i2iCore about the scope for your team.

The identity service, i2i Identity & Access, holds the staff directory, gives new starters the right roles through job profiles, tracks who is active, suspended or has left, manages shifts and attendance, and reports on joiners, movers and leavers. This is how access is set up alongside onboarding.

What is an HR onboarding module?

An HR onboarding module manages what happens when someone joins an organisation, changes role or leaves. It holds the employee record, records who they report to and which position they fill, and coordinates the steps that turn a hire into a working member of staff.

For a network operator, onboarding has a second half that ordinary HR tools leave to the IT team: giving the person the right access to the systems they need, and taking it away on the day they leave. When those two halves are separate, access is granted by request, forgotten on exit and hard to audit.

i2i People connects the two. Staff accounts, roles and sessions live in i2i Identity & Access, so access is set up alongside onboarding and removed on exit.

Capabilities

What i2i People does

Staff lifecycle in i2i Identity & Access

  • Staff accounts are Active, Suspended or Exited
  • Suspending or exiting a user ends all their sessions
  • Exited is final and cannot be reversed
  • Managers recorded against each staff account

Access by job profile

  • A job profile bundles the roles for a position
  • Applying a profile to a user grants those roles
  • A drift report shows where a user no longer matches
  • Re-provisioning is an explicit action

Shifts and duty

  • Recurring shifts and standing rosters over a date range
  • Dated exceptions to the standing roster
  • A roster view of who is on duty

Attendance and presence

  • Staff mark themselves present, on break, working from home or off
  • Live roll call of who is on duty now
  • Daily history of first in, last out and break time
  • Optional location check-in with a map trail

Joiner, mover and leaver reporting

  • Report of joiners, movers and leavers with days since change
  • Shows the roles a leaver still holds
  • Exports to CSV for review

Use cases

Where i2i People is used

  • Give a new starter the right access

A new support engineer joins the operator. The administrator creates the account and applies the Support job profile, which grants the roles that position needs. The starter can work on the first day, and a later report shows whether their access has drifted from the profile.

  • Remove a leaver the same day

When a staff member leaves, the administrator marks the account as Exited. All of the person's sessions end immediately, and the account cannot be reactivated. The record stays for audit, and the leaver report lists any roles the person still holds.

  • Run the daily roll call for the network team

A shift lead sets a standing roster for the network operations team and adds exceptions for holidays. Staff mark themselves present at the start of the shift, the lead sees the live roll call, and the day's history records first in, last out and break time.

FAQ

i2i People: frequently asked questions

What does i2i People include?

HR and staff onboarding with access set up alongside: the staff lifecycle, job profiles, shifts, attendance and joiner, mover and leaver reporting described on this page. Ask i2iCore for the scope that fits your team.

Does it handle leave and payroll?

Scope depends on your deployment. Ask i2iCore about leave, payroll and other HR processes you need alongside onboarding, and we will confirm how they fit with staff onboarding and access for your team.

Does removing a leaver also remove their access?

Yes for accounts held in i2i Identity & Access. Marking a user as Exited ends all of their sessions at once and the state cannot be reversed. The leaver report also shows roles that a departed person still holds, so you can check that nothing remains.

Can attendance be checked against a location?

Yes, as an option. Presence can be set to require a location at check-in, and the console shows a trail and map. Self-marked presence without location is the default mode, so you choose whether location is worth asking for.

Is this the same as the attendance in other i2iCore modules?

The attendance and shift features described here belong to i2i Identity & Access and cover platform staff. Other modules may keep their own records for their own users, so do not assume one attendance record spans all of them.
